Welcome to Getting Catty w/ Kat & Pat, our potpourri podcast where Patrick M. Dunn and Kat Halstead take time away from their busy schedules of bickering on the internet to bring you their thoughts on all the things they know best (television, movies, gossip, scandals, and obscure 90s references).
Getting Catty w/ Kat & Pat have returned to discuss the seventh and eighth episodes of FX’s Feud: Bette and Joan and the emotional rollercoaster ride that accompanied these final two installments (note: we both may have balled our eyes out). It’s been a blast rolling through Hollywood’s torrid past via the eyes and mind of Ryan Murphy and Co. (and his glorious wig department), but everything must come to an end. Ta-ta, my darlings…
Anyway, after all the behind the scenes hoopla on the set of Hush, Hush… Sweet Charlotte and Mamacita’s sudden departure, Joan Crawford’s life begins to take a tragic downward spiral involving tiny New York City apartments, a disgusting dental crisis, and a super sad trip across the pond to London for the filming of the ultimate 70s sci-fi B-movie, TROG! As for Bette Davis? Well, she’s still a little bitter, continues to behave badly, and spends a good chunk of the late 70s dodging documentarians and getting shunned by her own daughter.
Plus, Kat schools Patrick on the ridiculous Dolly the Clone plot that was on Guiding Light in the late 90s, the bizarre ritual of yanking out the back molars in your mouth to accentuate your cheekbones, and the margarita’s rise to fame… in the 1970s?
We also muse on what the future may bring now that Feud: Bette and Joan has wrapped up. Fret not, the phoenix will rise again!
